Hi,

There's quite a bit to do. Here is a short list of things that certainly
need to be done.

Critical bugs
-------------
- Deleting marked-up text doesn't handle markup tags well
- Integrate Aurelien's edge/node
- use IMContext for text handling
- use GtkTextBuffer for text?

- multiline=1 on text does not work well with centered text.
- centered text is not handled well in SVG exporter.
- Add groupable::remove callback for Python items.
- Remove Groupable::remove from dia_canvas_item_dispose().
- Unselect doesn't work properly for items with a VISIBLE_IF_* flag.

Future enhancements
-------------------
- It would be good to be able to use the mouse to select
parts of the text, just like in GtkEntry, for example.
- properties and signals use "_" and "-" not consistently.

- Allow marked-up text for print and SVG exports.
- Unit tests for DiaCanvas, DiaCanvasItem, DiaHandle, DiaShape and the
  geometry functions.
- Implement Shapes. Still some shapes need to be implemented.
- Create an OpenGL canvas. Quite fancy, might improve performance under XFree4.
- What should be a nice way to do blending (like in The Gimp) within shapes?
That would really make the canvas awesome!!!!!!! (to do in LibArt)

I don't think it makes a lot of sense to implement these:
- Add image and text support for the X canvas
- Fix some ugly things on the X canvas (like grid points)
