itchconfig is a tool for the flexible, non-interactive configuration of
software packages on Unix-like operating systems. Similar to the GNU
autoconf/automake tools, a configure script generated by itchconfig checks
several properties of a user's computer (C compiler, libraries, ...) and
generates all files (e.g. the Makefile) which are necessary to build an
executable program from the source code of a software package on the user's
computer.

For an installation description, read the file INSTALL.

For extensive documentation, open the file itchconfig/docu/index.html with a
web browser. After installation, you can also try the command "info itchconfig"
(or "info -f itchconfig") to read documentation in info format.

The project home page is <http://itchconfig.sourceforge.net/>. There you can
find more information about the project and the most recent version of the
package.
