To compile/install resistor on Unix a simple "make" should do the
trick. A single executable called "resistor" will be created. Put
that wherever you like and you're ready to go.

Resistor requires QT version 3 or higher which can be obtained from
TrollTech (www.trolltech.com) for free. I will put a Redhat 7.2
binary on the site for download (that should work with other versions
of linux as well). Make sure libqt-mt.so.3 is in your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

I'll supply binaries for Windows as well.

If you want to build resistor for another platform (or Windows) you
can use QT's qmake mechanism to generate a makefile for your
platform. qmake comes with the standard QT distribution which can be
obtained from Trolltech at www.trolltech.com. A qmake tutorial is
outside the scope of this readme, but a good explanation can be found
on the trolltech website or by using the qt assistant (which is also
distributed with the QT libraries at trolltech).

Note that an icon has been supplied (application.ico and
application.xpm) which can be used with Gnome or KDE to put a link to
the application on your menu or desktop.
