General Information
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

clive is a video extraction tool for user-uploaded video hosts such as
Youtube, Google Video, Dailymotion, Guba and Metacafe. It can be chained
with 3rd party tools for subsequent video re-encoding and playing and
playing.

Bundled software
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

* urlgrabber module [LGPL]
* feedparser module [MIT]
* newt library (snack module) [LGPL]

The source code to these can be found in the src/clive/ directory. Some
files were excluded from their original distributions, but all of the
essential files (e.g. license, changelog, etc.) are included along with
their source code. Documentation, unneeded source code, tests and examples,
were also excluded.

None of these will interfere with "official" installations of these software
and can co-exist on the same system with them. All of them are installed
to the clive namespace, to illustrate this: a typical Python program
imports the urlgrabber module with:
    import urlgrabber

Whereas clive imports the bundled module with:
    import clive.urlgrabber

Note that the bundled newt library is not installed. The snack module
links to the newt library statically.

Installation
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please see the 'INSTALL' file.

Source code documentation
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

To create the doxygen generated documentation, type:
    % make dox

The documentation is created into the dox/ directory. Note that if
configure script failed to locate the doxygen program, the above
command will fail.
