This file contains only short install instructions, check README for more
detailled information! If you use Debian Linux you should read the file
doc/debian.txt too.

IMPORTANT: We don't use autoconf/automake anymore so don't search for
any configure script, instead you have to install cons, the build system
we use now!

1. install cons either from your distribution or the included version
2. make sure you installed perl including the libs (dev version)
(some users reported problems with perl versions < 5.6 - so plz
consider to update perl if u expect difficulties...)
3. make sure you installed glib 1.2.x (including dev version)
4. run cons -h in the openftpd directory (where the Construct file is
located) to see the available build options
5. run cons . [options]
6. if compilation was successful run ./install.pl and install openftpd

If you want to rebuild anything you can simply delete the whole build/
directory.

Some scripts require the file .openftpdrc in the home directory of the
user running the ftpd. This file should contain one line with the path
to the root of the OpenFTPD installation (the directory which contains
sbin and etc). This file is usually created by the installer but if you
move the installation manually you have to make sure that the path
in .openftpdrc matches your installation.
