Overview
--------

mcontrol is a ALSA MIDI sequencer client and brings the possibility to
assign up to twelve "simultaneous" MIDI control messages for each controller
in your MIDI keyboard (Modulation Wheel, Breath Controller, Foot Controller,
 Pitch Bend and After Touch).

An example is always better:

You can send Reverb, Volume, Chorus, Modulation MIDI messages using the modulation
wheel controller of your MIDI keyboard. Or pitch bend and reverb using after-touch,
or control the Filter Cutoff in modulator wheel, or control the Pan using the
Pitch Bender ..... etc etc etc ...

Most of the moderns synthesizers can do that, but normally don't send the
midi data, with mcontrol you can record series of controllers in your
favorite sequencer.

Midi message controllers, can be edited and saved.

And programs and Banks of programs of what you edit can be saved too.

How to start
------------

The best way is configuring your settings in the menu, then restart, please
use the Default Preset and Default Bank provided with this release.
mcontrol has auto-connect feature, but of course you can always use programs
like aconnect or aconnect gui to connect to other ALSA sequencer clients.

Then save your settings and restart mcontrol.

Main Window
-----------

Each Controller section has 12 buttons (1-12) and one ByPass button.
If you Enable ByPass mcontrol does nothing in this section, even if
buttons(1-12) are enabled. And send exactly the same event you play.

Enabling one of this (1-12) buttons you can assign a MIDI Controller message.

velocity offset: increases or decreases the MIDI velocity sensitivity of the
notes played.

Force Midi Channel: Forces or not the output MIDI channel of the events
played and created by mcontrol.

Name: Is for name the program.

Notes: Is for write some notes about the program.

Program: change programs

Midi Ch: is the Midi Channel who mcontrol recognizes when receives program
change midi message.

MW slider is a Modulation Wheel, and is assigned to the Modulation Wheel chain of
messages.

PB slider is Pitch Bender, and is assigned to the Pitch Bend chain of
messages.

Controllers
-----------

Here you can edit the MIDI messages you send with mcontrol
The program is released with the mos standard MIDI control messages,
but each synthesizer has their one ones, then you can add up to 200
different messages.

You can load/save series of 200 controllers.

They are 6 types of messages.

type 1:

single message: sends Control Number message and the data is relative to the
"min" and "max" parameters.

type 2:

complex message:

sends 4 MIDI control messages.

1 - Control Number and Value
2 - Control Number and Value
3 - Control Number and Value relative to "min" and "max" parameters.
4 - Control Number and Value relative to "min" and "max" parameters.

type 3:

complex message:

sends 3 MIDI control messages.

1 - Control Number and Value
2 - Control Number and Value

type 6:

Write the sysex message in Hexadecimal and with "," separator int this
way:

F0,36,03,45,56,@@,45,67,F7 (don't care about case sensitive)

@@ value will be relaced for the value of the control assigned.
## value will be replaced by the Force Channel value (Not Tested).

Please email me if you find bugs, or need improvements.

Have a nice day
