ALDO is a morse tutor with 6 skill levels and 4 speeds.
Select the proper skill/speed to begin practicing cw.

To compile ALDO type "make" in the main directory of aldo.

NOTE1:
*****************************************************************
* I've only tested ALDO under gcc 3.x                           *
* So if you have gcc 2.95.x it is better to download aldo for *
* gcc-2.95.x from http://aldo.sf.net.                           *
* However send me an email and I will help you. *
*****************************************************************

NOTE2:
*****************************************************************
* Under FreeBSD you need gmake and you must change in Makefile *
*               MAKE=make ----> MAKE=gmake                              *
*****************************************************************

To install aldo login as root and type "make install" in the main directory. To
uninstall aldo login as root and type "make uninstall" in the main directory.

NOTE: To run ALDO you must have write access to the /dev/dsp file.

On start you will see a menu.

You can choose:

1) A quick start:
   If you select this item you will prompted for the skill level,
   then aldo will begin sending. Speed is set to default (Medium).

2) Select speed keying speed and start:
   The same as item 1, but you can also select the keying speed.

About Exit: I don't know how this item is used :))

As aldo sends the code, copy it onto a separate sheet of paper.

After the first session, a new item will appear in the menu.

3) Check:
   This item prints the text sent and (I hope) copied.

If you need anything else, send me an email.

Ah! Who is Aldo? Aldo is an OM, IK8MYN, my human morse tutor.
I'm sorry for my "english" (who is so brave to call this slang english?)

Aldo supports localization. So if a translation exists, you can use aldo with
your native language (provided your LANG envroiment variable is properly set).
You can help to translate aldo in your own language, read po/README.

Ciao ciao,
