 Museum - Statistics displaying framework
==========================================
Part of collectd, http://verplant.org/collectd/

About
-----

  Museum/Collection are script for displaying several computer's statistics in
  a uniform and simple to maintain way.

Operation
---------

  The script ``collection.cgi'' has to be copied onto each machine you want to
  monitor. It provides methods to view the rrdfiles in /var/lib/collectd and to
  generate graph-images from these files.
  The script ``museum.cgi'' is installed on one machine and queries which files
  are available at the different `collections'. It's kind of an hybrid script
  that's being used to administer the `museum' when started in the console and
  serves the actual contents when in CGI context. Therefore, a simple
  `/path/to/museum.cgi' will print usage information for you.

Example
-------

  This is an oversimplified example, so copy and paste will propably not work
  for you.

  -- 8< --
    # Install the perl-Module ``XML::Dumper''
    # This needs to be done on `collection'-hosts, too
    apt-get install libxml-dumper-perl

    # Copy collection.cgi
    for HOST in foo bar baz; do scp collection.cgi $HOST:/usr/lib/cgi-bin/; done

    # Install museum.cgi on this host
    cp museum.cgi /usr/lib/cgi-bin

    # Add the collections
    for HOST in foo bar baz; do /usr/lib/cgi-bin/museum add $HOST $HOST/cgi-bin/collection.cgi
  -- >8 --

  That's about it. Enjoy ;)
