Quick Version:
--------------
sudo python setup.py install

Longer Version:
---------------
The short version install line listed above should work with most sane
python installations. Depending on whether you already have setuptools
installed on your system, it may need to download some extra packages, so
you might need a live internet connection when you install.

See the requirements section for extra utilities you may need (e.g. hydra, nmap).

Requirements:
-------------
Depant requires hydra and nmap installed on the system to run. Depending on
your distribution you may have to install hydra manually. It has some
documentation on building it, so hopefully you don't have any problems.
More information on building hydra follows below.

Hydra Install:
--------------
** Note ** You must use the 0.11 version of libssh when you compile hydra,
otherwise it will have issues. This is the correct version.
This also means, do *not* install the libssh2 ubuntu packages...
If you do, you will get various undefined reference errors during
	   they hydra build. :(

The version of hydra that depant was created with and tested on is 5.4. You
get a copy of that here:

	http://freeworld.thc.org/releases/hydra-5.4-src.tar.gz

Here are steps for building on an ubuntu box. You should be able to
paste this into a script and run it as well (but it doesn't check for
any errors, etc). Also, the same thing should work on a RHEL box if
you remove the first apt-get line.
---------------------------------------
#!/bin/bash
sudo apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libpq-dev nmap
wget -nd http://0xbadc0de.be/libssh/libssh-0.11.tgz
tar -xvzf libssh*
cd libssh-0.11
./configure && make && sudo make install
if ! grep -r "/usr/local/lib$" /etc/ld.so.conf* > /dev/null ; then
	echo "/usr/local/lib" >> /etc/ld.so.conf
fi
sudo /sbin/ldconfig
cd ..
wget -nd http://freeworld.thc.org/releases/hydra-5.4-src.tar.gz
tar -xvzf hydra*tar.gz
cd hydra-5.4-src
./configure --disable-xhydra && make && sudo make install
---------------------------------------

** Note ** Pay attention to the messages at the end of the hydra make. If you
see the errors relating to -lpq, you might have to adjust the Makefile
	   slightly as per the instructions.

Note that I specifically did not install the svn requirements. For some
reason the build always fails for me when I do, and I haven't taken the time
to figure out why that is.

Uninstall:
----------
If you wish to uninstall depant, run the following:

	sudo easy_install -m depant

This will remove it from the python path (.pth) files. Then just delete the
.egg and depant bin that it mentions when running the above command (for me on OSX it was
/Library/Python/2.5/site-packages/Depant-0.0a-py2.5.egg and /usr/local/bin/depant).

Good luck. See the README for other details.
