Software Requirements
=====================

Before installing, please verify that you have the following programs
installed:
  - OpenSSH
    http://www.openssh.com/portable.html
  - Python 2.4 (or a higher 2.x version)
    http://www.python.org/
  - Pexpect
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/pexpect
  - simplejson Python module
    http://www.undefined.org/python/#simplejson
  - PyGTK+ 2.14 or higher
    http://www.pygtk.org/
  - PyGObject 2.14 or higher
    http://www.pygtk.org/
  - GNU C Compiler
    http://gcc.gnu.org/
  - GNU Autoconf
    http://www.gnu.org/software/autoconf/
  - GNU Automake
    http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/
  - GNU Make
    http://www.gnu.org/software/make/
  - Python Docutils
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/docutils
  - NX Agent 3.3.0
    http://www.nomachine.com/sources
  - Netcat
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/netcat
  - NXClient (or equivalent, only NoMachine's client has been tested though)
    http://www.nomachine.com/select-package-client.php
  - Xauth & Xrdb
    http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/app/

On debian/ubuntu, these (except NX Agent) can be satisfied using:
  sudo apt-get install make openssh-server python python-pexpect \
       python-simplejson python-gtk2 python-gobject gcc autoconf automake \
       python-docutils netcat xauth x11-xserver-utils

Nx Agent is not currently included in debian or ubuntu. Ubuntu packages can be
located here:
  https://launchpad.net/~freenx-team/+archive/ppa

To build, run the following as a normal user:
  - ./autogen.sh
  - ./configure # You probably want to supply --prefix etc here. see
                # ./configure --help for details.
  - make

To install, run this as root:
  - make install

To finish setup (this assumes you've installed to the standard locations):
  - Create a 'nx' user with the shell set to the path to
    /usr/local/lib/neatx/nxserver-login-wrapper
    Debian/ubuntu example:
      useradd --system -m -d /usr/local/var/lib/neatx/home -s \
      /usr/local/lib/neatx/nxserver-login-wrapper nx
  - Install authorized_keys.nomachine:
    install -D -m 600 -o nx /usr/local/share/neatx/authorized_keys.nomachine ~nx/.ssh/authorized_keys
  - Install the example config file:
    cp /usr/local/share/doc/neatx/neatx.conf.example /usr/local/etc/neatx.conf
  - Edit neatx.conf to configure command paths that might be different on your
    system (e.g. netcat-path on fedora)
