README file for SquidClamav Version 2.0

SquidClamav - A Clamav Antivirus Redirector for Squid -
		http://www.samse.fr/GPL/squidclamav/

Requirement :
--------------

You need libcurl 7.12.1 at least.
Here the libraries linkage I use :

-lcurl -ldl -lssl -lcrypto -ldl -lz -lbz2 -lgmp -lpthread

Installation instructions :
---------------------------

cd regex/
./configure
make
cp regex.h regex.o ../
cd ..
make
make install

See and modify the configuration file to match your needs

If you want debug information set debug to 1.

Squid configuration :
---------------------

To integrate squidclamav to your squid cache just edit the squid.conf
file and set the following:

	redirect_program /usr/local/squidclamav/bin/squidclamav
and
	redirect_children 15

If you have huge access and enough memory set the redirect_children to
upper value.

and add this acl to prevent loops

	redirector_access deny localhost

SquidClamAv configuration:
--------------------------

See README file.

Virus Scanning:
---------------

Virus scanning is now down with an open stream to clamd tcp daemon.
You can run it on the same host or for any other dedicated machine.

If you find it useful, I'd like to know - please send email
to gilles@darold.net
