This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but

The following tasks need to be done for this whois server.
If you are interested, contact me at <dan@@drydog.com>

1. Full support for IPv6 for standalone client
        (automatic for inetd server mode if [x]inetd supports it)
	This is only needed for the rfc1431 client.

2. Implement Legacy IPv4 code
        (for pre-IPv6 systems, such as Solaris 7)
	Needed for:
		a. get_client_hostname (uses getpeername())
		b. tcp_connect (uses struct addrinfo/getaddrinfo())
			Implemented, but not tested
		c. tcp_listen (also uses struct addrinfo/getaddrinfo())

3. Full support of autoconf/automake for "make install" and "make po"

4. Convert from a flat-text "database" (swhoisd.conf) to one of:
	1. a simple key/value database, such as dbm.
	2. a relational database, such as MySQL.
	3. multiple relational databases, using ODBC.

5. Port to other UNIX systems and to MS Windows.
