Simple Disk Catalogizer 0.5
===========================

dic is a simple, console based disk catalogizer. With dic, you can easily add
disks to catalog, search in the contents of the catalog, list files of a disk,
get files without manually navigate in the source media, etc.
It is written originaly by kos Putz <Putz_Akos@yahoo.com> (see AUTHORS).

Check out http://dic.sourceforge.net for the newest version.

Requirements:
--------------
Dic requires python to run. It is developed under python 1.5, but should work
under the latest versions too (testers needed).

Installation:
-------------
1. system-wide:
  - su to root
  - Unzip and untar the tarball somewhere.
  - Customize and run install.sh.

2. local:
  - Unzip and untar the tarball somewhere.
  - copy 'commondic.py' and 'commondic.pyc' somewhere to your pythonpath,
or add the current directory to your PYTHONPATH environment variable.
  - mkdir ~/.dic; cp dic.conf ~/.dic/
  - sorry, but I think, that the mc vfs will only work from /usr/lib/mc/extfs.

Setup:
------
Dic uses two configuration files :
 /etc/dic.conf and/or
 ~/.dic/dic.conf.
You can find a sample configuration file in the tarball,
customize if needed ( see dic.conf(5) )

Update :
From 0.6, user-definable filters are implemented, see examples/dicfilter.conf.
If you have created some useful filters, please send it to us!

Usage:
------
See dic.conf(5) and dic(1)

Reporting bugs:
