Installation Notes

1) Build

   $ make

2) Test

   $ su
   $ cd mod
   $ make load
   $ cd ../test
   $ make linux

3) Install

   make install

   The install path defaults to /usr/local. The installation adds
   both libraries and include files to the lib and include
   subdirectories. You can change the install path with:

   make install prefix=/my/favourite/path

   The kernel module itself is placed in

   /lib/modules/<kernel_version>/misc/srripc.o

   This is non-negotiable, though you can move it from there yourself
   if you want to set your own MODPATH for modprobe.

4) If you plan to use the kernel auto-loading feature, you will need
   to compile your kernel with kernel auto loading turned on. In the
   2.2 kernels, configuration section "Loadable Module Support",
   answer YES to both:

      Enable loadable module support
   and
      Kernel module loader

   That is all that you should have to do for your kernel.

   "make install" should have put the following line into either
   /etc/conf.modules or /etc/modules.conf:

      alias char-major-10-171 srripc

   If it is not there, you must add it yourself. Attempting to open
   /dev/srripc should now cause the srr module to load automatically.
