Todo
   - ask user for filename needs interface
   - make sure HAVE_LIBAVCODEC/FORMAT and HAVE_LIBMP3LAME are checked
whereever necessary (so that compiling without will give a working
	binary)
   - check code for all treatment of fps.
make sure we always use 100fps ints as long as possible to
	avoid conversion issues
   - piped audio input no longer works
   - make sure compression with mf capture can't be selected or works.
   - check every sprintf for whether it needs to be changed to snprintf
   - add help display
   - check gnome usability standards
   - make sure playback cannot be used before encoding with single-capture
this includes changing the defaults for the commands (don't use
	animated gif for animate anymore)
	- also perhaps change encode to transcode for multi-frame capture
   - make sure edit only works when paused for single-frame capture and
   	when stopped for multi-frame
   - add display of valid format/codecs combinations to --codec-help

   - asf segfaults ?!? ... test after update to new FFMPEG
asf needs guess_format ... this seems to segfault more
often than guess_stream_format with x11 input for the
other file formats ... this could be related to other
things. x11 source is not terribly well tested.
	- research x11 source (race-conditions?)

   - add piped output to allow real-time streaming w/ ffserver
(working piped ouput examples for ffmpeg:
     ./ffmpeg -i ~/media/music/misc/Placebo_-_Sleeping_With_Ghosts_-_05_-_The_Bitter_End.mp3 \
     	-ab 128 -ar 44100 -ac 2 -acodec mp2 -f wav -vn - | ./ffmpeg -v 9 -ab 128 -ar 44100 \
	-ac 2 -acodec mp2 -f wav -vn -i - -vn blub.wav
     ./ffmpeg -i /home/khb/media/video/some.mpg -f asf - | ffmpeg -i - bla.asf
     )

   - check check for libm ... still doesn't seem to work in all cases
   - code cleanup
   - (after new preferences) make mouseover on record button display
     summary of current options

   - redesign GTK GUI
   - disable Shm if client and server are not running on the same host
