Intoduction
===========

This is a small demo of implementing transparent distributed objects in Io. With this you can run a server in which clients can talk to objects on the server as if they were local object (and vice versa).

Running the test
================

Open a terminal window and cd to the IoServer folder where the ioServer executable is. Then start the server like this:

./ioServer Sockets/_tests/DistributedObjects/ServerTest.io

Then open another terminal window and run the client test in the other:

./ioServer Sockets/_tests/DistributedObjects/ClientTest.io

The client will send a few messages and display the results.

Notes
=====

This works but is unfinished. Notably, remote garbage collection isn't addressed. Any object remotely addressed will be retained until the connection closes. This problem can be solved using WeakLinks.
