HOW TO INSTALL VDKODBC WINDOWS PORTING
======================================
In order to install and build VDKODBC under windows you need
following libraries and tools:

1. Dev-C++ IDE
    You can get it at http://www.bloodshed.net

2. VDK Win-32 Development environment
		version: 2.4.0

There is no need of unixODBC since VDKODBC code
is based on ODBC standard which comes from Microsoft.

=================================================
TO MAKE AND INSTALL FOR THOSE WITH SU PERMISSION:

If you haven't yet untarred the file, do

$ tar xvzf vdkodbc-2.4.0.tar.gz
$ cd  ~/vdkodbc-2.4.0/

Now just run ./configure to check your system and create all necessary files.
configure will accept like options (to see all of them do ./configure --help)
    --prefix=[DIR] where to install it [default=/usr/local]
    --enable-debug=[no/minimu/yes] it enables the debug system [default=no]
    --enable-shared=[yes/no]

When configure finish do

$ make

This will produce:

- a configure script vdkodbc-config to use when compiling your programs
  with vdkodbc objects set

BUILDING DOCUMENTATION
======================
Do:
$ make docs
This will produce a ./vdkodbc-2.4.0/doc/doxy/html dir
plenty of html files.
Just run:
$ netscape ./vdkodbc-2.4.0/doc/doxy/html/index.html&
or open ./vdkodbc-2.4.0/doc/doxy/html/index.html
in your preferred browser to read VDKODBC class reference.
To make a postscript printable version you need to
./configure with --enable-doc-latex=yes and
$ cd ./vdkodbc-2.4.0/doc/doxy/latex
$ make ps
this will produce a refman.ps
If you do not want build docs by yourself (almost
html format is recommended) you can download from
vdkbuilder website vdkodbc001.ps.gz in ps format and print it.

===========================
MAKING VDKODBC TEST PROGRAM
===========================

- A test program is provided into vdkodbc-0.0.1/testodbc
to serve as tutorial and to test if the library works
properly. testodbc needs libodbc installed.

To make test program :
$ cd vdkodbc-2.4.0/testvdkodbc
$ ./configure
$ make

- If you have vdkbuilder you can build test program also
using the builder:
Run vdkbuilder and open ./testvdkodbc/testodbc.prj
Most likely you will be asked to update project paths,
answer yes and reopen the project.

=========
CLEANING
=========

# make clean
This will remove all obj's and libs from source tree

# make distclean
This will remove all file created by configure

======================
MAKING ZIP/TARRED FILE
======================
# make dist

Enjoy.
