Aware: External Packages

Aware may link to external software packages to extend its features.
If you are interested in the feature(s) described, install the
external package before building Aware. NOTE: rrdtool and sqlite 
are now included with Aware.

NOTE: many of these packages come "packaged" with the major distributions.

Web Based Graphing: 

        RRDTOOL: http://www.rrdtool.org [rrdtool-1.0.49 included]

        Rrdtool allows you to have time based graphs of data such
        as traffic statistics, load averages, disk usage, latency, and packet loss.

Relational Database Support: 

        MySQL: http://www.mysql.org 

        Oracle: http://www.oracle.com 

        PostgreSQL: http://www.postgresql.org 

        MS SQL Server: http://www.freetds.org

        Sqlite: http://www.sqlite.org [sqlite-3.1.3 included]

        Installing the above supported relational database client libraries will
        allow you to create event handlers that store events in the database as 
        well as query the database and may generate events based on
        the rows returned. 

SNMP:

        Net-snmp: http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net

        Network discovery uses various snmp programs (not currently needed at compile time).

Windows NETBIOS

        Samba: http://www.samba.org

        Network discovery uses 'nmblookup' (not currently needed at compile time).
