copy the nvmixrc in the /etc directory as it is given as the default directory for script file
copy the ./nvmix-reg utility in /usr/bin directory

To make this script working need to add the following lines in modules.conf after our modules alias

For 2.4 Kernel- modules.conf

if sound-slot-x is our alias
then add following lines after the alias sound-slot-x nvsound lime

post-install sound-slot-x /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 ||:
pre-remove sound-slot-x /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1 ||:

For 2.6 kernel (FC2) - modprobe.conf

install nvsound /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install nvsound && /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 || :
remove nvsound { /usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove nvsound

edit /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt or /etc/init.d/halt.local(Suse)

if grep -q "\(nvsound\)" /proc/modules && [ -f /etc/nvmixrc -a -x /usr/bin/nvmix-reg ]; then
/usr/bin/nvmix-reg -f /etc/nvmixrc -S >/dev/null 2>&1
