0. Install / Bootstrap
----------------------

If you don't know what bootstrapping is, then you don't need it.
Please go to appropriate install section.  You will find an
explanation of how to copy the compiler and libraries shipped in this
tarball to your system.




1.1. Installing Nemerle on Windows
----------------------------------

Run Nemerle.msi and follow instructions displayed on the screen.


1.2. Installing Nemerle in Un*x environment
-------------------------------------------

Type 'configure', and then 'make install'.

The configure script takes many switches that affect installation
paths, and compilation process.  Run configure with --help switch to
list all supported options.

If 'make' doesn't work try to use 'gmake'.



2.1. Bootstrapping Nemerle on Windows
-------------------------------------

... is not that easy.


2.2. Bootstrapping Nemerle in Un*x environment
----------------------------------------------

The simplest way to compile this package is:

  1. Type './configure' to configure the package for your system.
  2. Type 'make' to bootstrap the compiler, and standard library.
  3. Type 'make check' to run self-tests.
  4. Type 'make install' to install compiler, standard library, and
     manual page.

If 'make' doesn't work try to use 'gmake'.


3.1. Removing Nemerle from Windows

Start --> Configuration --> Control Panel --> Add / Remove Software


3.2. Removing Nemerle from Un*x environment
-------------------------------------------

Type 'make uninstall'.
