Description.
------------

The PhotoClip is a simple image viewer and editor mostly designed
for digital camera pictures.
The goal is to make a program that can be conveniently used
as both viewer and editor at the same time.

For now the only editing feature is recomposition, i.e. cropping
and rescaling of image.

Current release (0.2.3) is the first release that can save
the result - scaled and rotated fragment - into file.
Only TIFF format is supported for writing.

Many features are still missing.

See http://www.vaisburd.net/PhotoClip for more details.

Author: Tima Vaisburd <tima@vaisburd.net>

PhotoClip is released under GNU GPL, see file COPYING.

Installation.
-------------

You need to have GNUstep installed. The program is tested with:

gnustep-make: 1.10.0
gnustep-base: 1.10.3
gnuspep-gui : 0.9.5
gnustep-back: 0.9.6

Rotation works only with libart backend. Selection works better with
libart, too.

For GNUstep installation guide see

http://www.gnustep.org/experience/documentation.html
http://gnustep.made-it.com/BuildGuide/

After having GNUstep core installed, type:
    make
    <become root>
    make install

I took as my model example ImageViewer program written by Philippe C.D. Robert
(http://www.nice.ch/~phip/softcorner.html#img).

Many people helped me on discuss-gnustep mailing list. Among them
Alexander Malmberg gave crucial explanations on image rendering.

I also uses the program PRICE (http://price.sourceforge.net/) written
by Riccardo Mottola. The code of PRICE helped me to undserstand the
internal image representation in GNUstep.
