0.55 - Minor feature and bugfix release
FEATURES
* Enhanced Feature: Added mute/unmute to Volume control. Now you can mute just the channel used by the open application.
* Menu system: Added ability to exit the menu from anywhere in it.

BUGFIXES
* Media-Detect: Locking files for alternate commands weren't application-specific. Fixed.
* Menu system: Every time you canceled from one menu to the previous menu, it would generate a new instance of the previous menu instead of gracefully exiting from the current menu loop. This could slow the menu down if you were editing or adding multiple applications. Fixed by implementing a proper canceling mechanism from each menu.

0.54 - Feature and bugfix release
FEATURES
* New Feature: Volume control module. You can now use Media-Detect to control the mixer and channel number of your choice. For instance, if your television tuner card and program use the AUX channel on your second mixer, you can configure Media-Detect to adjust the volume up and down on *that* channel and mixer while your television program is running. If no configured applications are running, you can set a default mixer and channel to adjust (usually the master volume on your first mixer). This feature requires aumix.
* New Feature: DCOP Applications. Some multimedia applications can use DCOP, the built-in KDE interface that allows programs like Media-Detect to control them via scripted commands. Media-Detect can now use this interface. While this was possible before by including the entire DCOP command in the configuration for each command, now Media-Detect can search DCOP, which is useful for programs which register a different name with DCOP every time they start, such as KMplayer.

BUGFIXES
* Menu system: I knew a logic bug would be found with the previous release, and one was. If you edited two applications in a row without restarting the menu, it would garble the view under certain circumstances. Fixed.
* Menu system: A bug prevented new applications from accepting Alternates when they were first created. Fixed.
* Command line menu: Sometimes cancel options wouldn't display properly. Fixed.

0.53 - Feature, bugfix, and documentation release
FEATURES
* Behind the scenes: Finished rewrite of the menu system for modularity. Now each function is broken up logically into a front-end, branches to present the user interface, and a back-end (if necessary) to perform any changes as necessary. This is the smartest Media-Detect yet.

* Behind the scenes: Completely rewrote the configuration file builder to allow all work to be done without file system writes. This also allowed the functions that use the builder to be substantially smaller. The media-menu script is now smaller, better documented internally, and noticeably faster, even on a high-end system.

* Feature enhancement: Application priority is now determined by the order of the applications in the menu. Adjusting application priority reorders the applications. This has several benefits:

	1. It is immediately apparent what priority any application has.
	2. Priority settings are no longer limited to 1-5.
	3. No applications can have the same priority, preventing conflicts.

A new interface has been added for adjusting the order of applications.

* Feature enhancement: The application editor has been completely rewritten for more intuitive flow, and to allow Alternate commands to be added as part of the newApp functions.
* Menu system: Made further adjustments to flow from menu to menu, for ease-of-use.
* Applications: Some single-application configuration files are in the /configs directory for convenient importing. More will be added with time.

BUGFIXES
* Too many to list. This was almost a complete re-write in order to achieve modularity, and in the process I fixed more than two dozen small bugs.

DOCUMENTATION
* README: Updated instructions on setting priority.
* README: Many other minor improvements throughout.
* man page: Updated information on config file format and application priority.

0.52c - Bugfix release
* Menu system: If you enabled Extended Mode while editing an app, it dumped you back to the main editor menu. Fixed.
* Menu system: Fixed a logic bug that sometimes caused some changes to be lost.
* Menu system: Enormous cleanup of if/then tests to improve efficiency and speed.
* Config file: Further improvements to layout for easy manual editing. Also, changes allowed reduction in size of media-menu script.
* Detect system: Having multiple apps open without assigned Priority caused the script to behave strangely (opening the first configured app, etc.). Fixed by implimenting informative error messages.
* Miscellaneous: Many behind-the-scenes changes in preparation for more modular design (and eventually conversion to C++).

0.52b - Bugfix release
* Installer: If you clicked on the installer instead of doing ./install, it would seem to work, but actually fail. Fixed.
* Menu system: Implemented arrays to vastly reduce redundancy.
* Menu system: Running "media-detect menu" instead of "media-menu" caused menu to pop up twice. Fixed.
* Config file: Improved layout of config file for easier manual editing.
* Fixed a few more miscellaneous menu bugs that have popped up.

0.52a - Bugfix release
* Command line menu: The menu would rarely get stuck in a loop. Fixed.
* Command line menu: Defaults in some parts of the editor didn't work. Fixed.
* GUI menu: Located an endless cancel loop. Fixed
* Removed some redundancy from application editor that caused slowness.

0.52 - Feature and bugfix release
NEW FEATURES
* Created option to hard-set user interface preference for users whose $DESKTOP strings don't necessarily say "kde" but still want to use kdialog.
* You can restore application configurations without disabling Extended Mode. Likewise, setting the interface mode survives configuration restores.

FIXED BUGS
* Command line menu didn't match GUI menu in some sections. Fixed.
* Unnecessary duplication in media-menu caused occasional slowdowns. Fixed.
* Cleaned up the cancelling systems to allow for better menu flow.

0.51 - Feature and documentation release
NEW FEATURES
* Command line user interface - The entire media-menu script can now be operated from the command line if you aren't logged into KDE. At startup, media-menu now checks the $DESKTOP variable to see if KDE is running, and provides a CLI if it is not. NOTE: If you choose to edit the config file manually from media-menu, it opens xedit.
* Command line installer - The installer has been updated for installation from a CLI as well.

DOCUMENTATION
* Updated man page to reflect minor differences in look and feel between GUI and CLI.
* Updated README

0.5 - Feature, bugfix, and documentation release
NEW FEATURES
* Installer - I've created a menu-based installer for Media-Detect that will help you install the script and the man page.
* Separate menu and command scripts - I moved the menu aspects of Media-Detect into a separate script ("media-menu"). You shouldn't need to make any changes to your linEAK or khotkeys configuration, but now the "media-detect" script will only call the "media-menu" script when necessary. Actual multimedia commands should happen faster, since each script is doing less work now.
* Configuration importer - If you have a .media-detect.conf file you want to import, you can do so easily now, adding it to your existing configuration file.

FIXED BUGS
* Sane temporary file creation/deletion. The "media-detect" script doesn't use any temporary files now, and the number of temporary files used by "media-menu" have been reduced. If you use any alternate commands, the locking file used by those commands still gets created, though.
* Massive code cleanup. This is the fastest, cleanest Media-Detect package yet.
* Removed the feature that turned on and off Extended Mode from the command line. It was redundant and buggy.

DOCUMENTATION
* Updated the descriptions of every function within the scripts to give better under-the-hood information.
* Updated the man page, which now installs by default.

0.43a - Bugfix and documentation release
FIXED BUGS
* Rewrote temporary files to be stored in /tmp instead of ~/tmp, since some distros don't use ~/tmp.
* Temporary files are now user-specific (i.e., their names reflect the user creating them).
* If you edited an existing application, its priority would disappear. Fixed.
* Adjusted the default applications so xine and kscd both have higher priorities than juk and xmms.
* Sometimes Media-Detect would stop detecting any application priorities at all. Fixed.

DOCUMENTATION
* Minor update to README to make it easier to follow.
* Added optional man page for more detailed usage instructions.

0.43 - Feature release
* MAJOR new feature: Application priority! Finally, you can have Media-Detect send that fast-forward command to your DVD player, even if your music player is open.

0.42b - Bugfix release
* One of the last major bugs has been fixed: It is now possible to add as many application configurations as you want.
* Major code clean-up: The script is now shorter and faster than ever.
* Editing a configuration made any Alternates for that application disappear. Fixed.
* If you edited an entire configuration, and then immediately edited any part of another configuration, it forced you to edit the whole second one. Fixed.

0.42a - Bugfix release
* Creating a new application configuration with Extended Mode enabled would
cause the menu to behave strangely. Fixed.

0.42 - Feature and bugfix release
NEW FEATURES
* You can now edit individual components of an application configuration without having to re-edit the whole thing.
* The menus have been rewritten for (hopefully) more intuitive use. Let me know if you don't like the changes.
* MAJOR new feature!: Alternate Entries. This feature lets you configure a button to alternate between two different commands (such as a play command and a pause command). For programs which lack a single "play-pause" function (like Xine), this can be very useful. A button configured with an Alternate will switch which command it runs every other time the button is pressed. Note: You do NOT have to reconfigure your lineakd.conf for this. All the work is done internally by Media-Detect.

FIXED BUGS
* Deleting two applications in a row broke the config file. Fixed.
* Making more than one change in the editor at a sitting sometimes made the menus display "funny." Fixed.

0.41b - Bugfix release
* Fixed a bug in the editor which would sometimes make it exit abnormally
* Fixed a script-wide bug that sometimes caused excessive filesystem writes and menu slowdowns

0.41a - Bugfix release
* Configurator changes now take effect immediately.
* Menu system now fully navigable (i.e., you can cancel at any point and return to the previous menu). In prior builds, the cancel button performed inconsistently.
* Fixed problem with main menu where it would run the first application on the list if it received invalid exit status.

0.41 - Feature release
* Added Extended Mode: Allows extra multimedia commands.
* Added Configurator: Turn Extended Mode on or off, restore the default multimedia applications, and edit your configuration file manually.
* Improved menu logic to allow easier navigation.
* Cleaned up menu look and feel.
* Config file now defaults to Xmms, Xine, KsCD, and JuK.

0.4 - Feature and bugfix release
NEW FEATURES
* Editor menu accessible from the main menu now.
* Display names can now be as long as you want.
* Improved command response times.
* Standardized format for configuration file.

FIXED BUGS
* Reduced repetition and "clutter" in code enormously.
* Occasional extreme slow-down bug fixed.
* Fixed bug where sometimes the config file would skip numbers.
* Almost all functions perform minimal filesystem writes now.

0.3 - Feature and bugfix release
NEW FEATURES
* Added support for editing existing configurations.
* Improved performance due to code clean-up.

FIXED BUGS
* Fixed multiple bugs in editor
* Improved performance due to code clean-up.
* Improved README

0.2b - Bugfix release
* Removed some duplication in the code.
* Fixed a bug in the editor which would delete all configurations.

0.2a - Bugfix release

0.2 - Feature and bugfix release
NEW FEATURES
* Rewrote the code to use a config file
* Added a GUI editor for configurations

FIXED BUGS
* Cleaned up the menu system

0.1a - Feature release
* Added another default application

0.1 - Initial release
