TIPS & HINTS

- To debug:
Go to the qsheff source root.
  # ./configure --enable-debug
  # make
if the qsheff is not installed type 'mkdir -p /var/spool/qsheffq' and 'mkdir -p /var/tmp/qsheffq'
Run './qsheff < mesg' (mesg is file include complete body of mail you want to debug)

Note that: Don't worry. Above 'make' doesn't affect your running qsheff binary. Don't use 'make install'.
It will install a big binary which is contain debugging informations.

- qsheff rejects emails if they haven't got From: line.
If you test qsheff by telnet or any other way, you have to specify at least one From: line in body.

- Always read UPGRADE file. You will find some usefull informations.

- If you set enable_blackhole to 1, qmail won't return 'permanently' message to spammer.
Nowadays most of the viruses and spams come from fake address. If the qmail reply
all of these addresses which are not correct, it spents too much time and replies
will fail. Because fake from addresses.

When your qmail is in bottleneck, try to set it to 1.

- Rules can be matched "before" or "after" words. This provided increased
  credibility and less false-positives.

If you want a rule to match a patten before some word:
b:( rule1) one "space" is put before the word.

If you want a rule to match a patten after some word:
a:( rule1) one "space" is put after the word.

If you want the rule to match just "anywhere", don't put any spaces.

Note: This property has always been present in subject filtering.
