'clic' can be used to create standard applications (like transcoders or media players) automatically from textual descriptions, called 'graph descriptions'.

For example, if you want to play back an MP3 file, you have to tell clic which graph description and which MP3 file to use:

./clic -i test.mp3 gd/playback/audio/mp3play.gd

For detailed information about options etc. simply type:

 ./clic -h


Some example graph descriptions can be found below the subdirectory gd, sorted by their purpose of use. Here is a short description of the directory layout:

gd/misc: some graph descriptions for testing and demonstration purposes

gd/playback: graph descriptions which play back media, like MP3's, AVI's and even images

- gd/playback/audio: audio playback, like MP3 and AC3
- gd/playback/video: video playback, like DivX and DVD
- gd/playback/image: manipulation and display of images
- gd/playback/tv: TV applications, like DVB or ivtv

gd/recording: graph descriptions which record media, e.g. CD grabbing or TV recording

gd/session_sharing: demonstration of session sharing for different types of media

- gd/session_sharing/camera: shared use of a camera
- gd/session_sharing/divx: shared playback of DivX videos
- gd/session_sharing/dvd: shared playback of DVD's
- gd/session_sharing/mp3: shared playback of MP3's
- gd/session_sharing/tv: shared TV playback

gd/transcoding: graph descriptions which transcode media, like "DivX to MPEG" or conversion between image formats
