Automated Install
-----------------

This will install everything you need in one go.

Logged in as the user who is going to use KlamAv do:

	tar jxvf klamav-0.7.tar.bz2
	cd klamav-0.7
	sh ./klamavsetup.sh install

If you want to get rid of everything later you can do:

	sh ./klamavsetup.sh uninstall

Manual Install
--------------

Make sure you have ClamAV installed. KlamAV no longer comes with ClamAV pre-packaged.

Tedious but not particularly difficult.

There are four components:

1. The mail scanning plugin (klammail: part of the KlamAV project).
2. The component that will give KlamAV real-time access to files. (dazuko: http://www.dazuko.org)
3. The KlamAV front-end. (http://www.sf/net/projects/klamav).

The instructions below assume your current working directory is the one where you opened
this README.

1. The mail scanning plugin (klammail: part of the KlamAV project).

	1. cd src/klammail/
	2. ./configure
	3. make
	4. su -c 'make install'
	5. cd ../..

2. The component that will give KlamAV real-time access to files. (dazuko: http://www.dazuko.org).
Please note that the dazuko module *must* be copied to your $KDEDIR/bin (e.g. /opt/kde/bin) because
this is where KlamAV will attempt to load it from.

	1. cd src/dazuko-2.0.4/
	2. ./configure
	2. make
	3. cp dazuko.o $KDEDIR/bin/
	4. insmod $KDEDIR/bin/dazuko.o
	5. su -c 'mknod -m 600 /dev/dazuko c `grep dazuko /proc/devices | sed "s/ .*//"` 0'
	6. su -c 'chown $USER:clamav /dev/dazuko'
	7. cd ../..

3. The KlamAV front-end. (http://www.sf/net/projects/klamav).

	1. ./configure
	2. make
	3. su -c 'make install'

It should now work. If it doesn't, please remember the status on the sourceforge site is still 'planning, pre-alpha'!
