===== ***** WARNING WARNING WARNING ***** =====
Release 3.02 of the package is a major overhaul; many things had changed
and many might have been broken badly. Consider it ALPHA quality
software; use if you like to experiment and wish to help in debugging;
otherwise, get release 2.15 and use it.
In particular, Hydra protocol is *known* to be broken. Use option
NoHydra in the config file.
===== End of warning =====

The package consists of two major parts: ifgate (gateway programs,
analog of FidoNet tosser/packer), and ifcico (transport agent, analog of
FidoNet mailer), each in its own subdirectory. Routines common to these
programs are in the iflib subdirectory. In the top-level subdirectory
are: README (this file), CONFIG (your system configuration definition)
and top-level Makefile. There are also "misc" subdirectory with examples
of configuration, some useful scripts, FAQ list etc., and "contrib"
subdirectory with ifmail-related scripts and programs contributed
by other people.

Each of the subdirectories (ifgate, ifcico, iflib, misc and contrib)
contains its own README file, refer to them for more technical details.

The mailing list location is ifmail-request@online.ru. To subscribe just
put a word "subscribe" into the subject. To unsubscribe just put a word

Building from CVS:
In addition, you must have cvs, autoconf and automake installed on
your system.

$ cd $your_src_dir
$ cvs -d :pserver:cvs@cvs.average.org:/var/cvs login
Password: cvs
$ cvs -d :pserver:cvs@cvs.average.org:/var/cvs checkout ifmail

NOTE: CVS contains a "work in progress" status of the package that
may not be usable at all times.
