POCESTI is simple filter for processing PostScript output from
Mozilla (Netscape 6.x) and Netscape 4.x browsers. It allows printing
of iso-8859-2 pages through standard GhostScript installation with
iso-8859-2 fonts included. It converts font encoding, entity names and
unicode represantation of accented iso-8859-2 characters back to normal
8-bit representation. It can also optionaly further beautify PostScript
output if required.

SYNTAX: pocesti [-n upper limit] [-d lower limit] [-f font substitution]

Pocesti reads PostScript from standart input and prints modified PostScript
to standard output. It is more or less equivalent to polish "ogonkigy"
filter with switches

You can use Pocesti from command line:

$ cat mozilla.ps|pocesti|lpr

Or you can modify your RedHat print filters:

$ cd /usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters
$ mv ps-to-printer.fpi ps-to-printer.fpi.raw
$ cat<<EOF>ps-to-printer.fpi
> #/bin/bash
> /bin/cat|/usr/bin/pocesti|/usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters/ps-to-printer.fpi.raw
> EOF
$ chmod a+x ps-to-printer.fpi

Or you can use following print command in Mozilla Print dialog box:

pocesti|lpr

If you want to remove useless header and footer from A4-formated pages:

pocesti -n 820 -d 90

If you want to replace Times font by Helvetica (or other sans-serif
proportional font):

pocesti -f Helvetica

INSTALLATION:

$ rm pocesti
$ make pocesti
$ su
$ mv pocesti /usr/bin

Note: Binary build of Pocesti, included in distribution package, is
dynamicaly linked against libc-2.1 (RedHat 6.2).

FUTURE:

Pocesti is quick and dirty patch, which will be obsoleted if either:

1) GhostScript supports full unicode support

or

2) Mozilla printer setup includes option to print classical 8-bit
PostScript, with correct encoding information included, instead of
unicode-only PostScript.
