Background documentation Restart Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

When the database system is restarted, all the available redo log entries from the log area are reproduced, and if necessary, undo log entries are evaluated in order to roll back transactions.

The system starts with the status of he database system that was recorded with the last savepoint.

  1. Using the transaction file, the log reader regenerates the transaction list.
  2. All the transactions that were still open at the time of the savepoint are determined using the transaction list.
  3. The transactions are processed in the way described in Restart or Recovery.
