• You are logged on as user root on your host.
• You have unpacked the required installation files.
• The prerequisites listed in Updating an Existing Database Instance have been fulfilled.

1. Start the installation process by entering:
   ./SDBUPD
2. Specify which database instance you want to start using the instance ID
3. Specify the name of the DBM user.

SDBUPD determines the Update Strategy and performs the update. You can check the result of your update using the log (Logging).
