-f | –fast

Default value of the Database Manager CLI

Fastest database kernel variant, with minimum logging and runtime checks.

Specifying this option has the following effect:

Microsoft Windows

When you create a database instance, the service entry of the fast variant of the database kernel is used. The kernel variant fast is started when you enter the command that starts the database instance.

UNIX

The command that registers the database instance does not work. Specifying the option -f | –fast therefore only makes sense when starting the database instance.
