Downloading and Unpacking the Software Under UNIX 

Use

You can download the newest SAP DB database software for your operating system from the SAP DB Homepage (http://www.sapdb.org) under Software.

Take account of the relevant notes about disk capacity and the tested operating system versions.

Procedure

       1.      Select the SAP DB software package that corresponds to your operating system architecture and the desired installation profile
SAPDB-<inst_profile>-<os>-64bit-<arch>-<version>_<build>.<tgz>

       2.      Download the software package and unpack it using the following command:
tar xvzf sapdb-<inst_profile>-<os>-64bit-<arch>-<version>_<build>

In this local directory, the system creates a subdirectory
sapdb-<inst_profile>-<win>-<32|64>bit-<arch>-<version>
and stores the SAP DB software including the SDBINST program there.
