* For information about using UNH-iSCSI in user-space, please refer to
  the docs/USER_SPACE documentation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are, currently, two different modes for UNH-iSCSI.

      1. Traditional iSCSI [RFC3720]
      2. iSER-Assisted iSCSI [RFC 5046]

Right now, the only way to change between the two modes is with a
re-compile. This document describes how to build UNH-iSCSI in both
modes.

			   -----------------
			   Traditional iSCSI
			   -----------------

To build UNH-iSCSI in traditional iSCSI mode you must edit the Makefile.
At the beginning of the Makefile, you must set RDMA=no The default
setting of this variable is RDMA=yes in order build with iSER support.

Once this change has been made, simply type ``make'' to build both the
UNH-iSCSI target and initiator modules.

			  -------------------
			  iSER-Assisted iSCSI
			  -------------------

The default settings of the Makefile are to build UNH-iSCSI with
iSER-Assisted mode using OFED-1.3. It is also possible to build
UNH-iSCSI with out OFED since the Linux kernel contains the OFA
kernel-space code anyway.

--------------
Using OFED-1.3
--------------

1. Make sure that OFED-1.3 is installed on your system.

2. Configure the /usr/src/ofa_kernel-1.3 directory:

   # (cd /usr/src/ofa_kernel-1.3; ./configure)

3. Build UNH-iSCSI

   # make

--------------------------------------
Using The Linux Kernel's Build-in OFED
--------------------------------------

1. Edit the Makefile and set the 'OFED' variable to no instead of yes
   (which is selected by default).

2. Build UNH-iSCSI

   # make

------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this point, you should have a set of three Linux kernel modules:

   unh_iscsi_target.ko -- the UNH-iSCSI iSCSI Target
   unh_scsi_target.ko -- the UNH-iSCSI SCSI Target Layer
   unh_iscsi_initiator.ko -- the UNH-iSCSI iSCSI Initiator
