It is a keylist formatting routine extracted from gpg4pine. If you
cannot choose some key, play with it to see what is happening. You can do
for example something like that:

gpg -k | cutkeys "^(pub|uid|sec)" 12-20,32- 32-

or:

pgp -kv | cutkeys "^(RSA|DSS|[[:space:]])" 16-25,37- 1-

Cutkeys should get on its standard input the output of normal key listing
function of gpg/pgp and return it in specially formatted form. The
specially formatted form means, that every key is listed in exactly one
line and such line consists of numerical key ID followed by space and then
by all the normal key IDs (those containing your addresses) separated by
 spaces.

Cutkeys takes three options. First contains regex that will extract from
gpg/pgp output only important lines containing information about keys.
Second and third contain fieldlist for cut to extract the most important
data from lines. Second argument is for first line of keydata, third for
the rest of them (for lines containing additional IDs).

If you see that key choosing routine does not work for you, play with this
and send the results to azzie@staszic.waw.pl
