To install on Solaris 10, you'll need the SUNWbinutils, SUNWsprot, SUNWgcc,
SUNWtoo and SUNWhea packages from the Solaris 10 media, and the
CSWbdb48 and CSWbdb48devel packages from http://www.opencsw.org.

The build requires the GNU linker, but unfortunately gcc may be hard-coded
to use the Solaris one, e.g.

$ gcc -print-prog-name=ld
/usr/ccs/bin/ld

So you are either forced to using methods such as this:

# mv /usr/ccs/bin/ld /usr/ccs/bin/ld.orig
# cp -p /usr/sfw/bin/gld /usr/ccs/bin/ld

This change will be reversed by Solaris patches. Alternatively you
can install CSWgcc4core from http://www.opencsw.org and use that in
favour of SUNWgcc.

Configure with the following command (all on one line):

$ LDFLAGS="-Xlinker -R/opt/csw/bdb48/lib:/usr/sfw/lib" \
        ./configure --with-db=/opt/csw/bdb48 --prefix=/usr

Then compile with 'make' and install with 'make install'.

For syslog debug support, add the configure option --enable-syslog.
