When KPlayer is minimized, and you start a new instance, the window gets
restored and brought to front, but it does not become activated and is the
last one in the Alt-Tab order. This is believed to be a KWin problem.

When playing an audio-only file KPlayer will resize its window to the
smallest height possible, however a small part of the video area will still
be visible. This may be construed to be a feature though. :-)

The progress slider thumb may jump back and forth when seeking. This is a
problem of KPlayer syncronization with MPlayer that should be resolved in a
future version.

If a window or widget like a menu or tooltip pops up over the MPlayer window
and then goes away, the MPlayer window will flicker with a blue background.
This happens when running MPlayer with the XVideo driver, and it only happens
with some X11 drivers. If you are experiencing this, check if a newer version
of the X11 driver for your card is available.

Following are known MPlayer issues that affect KPlayer for which no
workaround have been found yet and that are not yet fixed in MPlayer.

If playback is paused, any seek or volume command will unpause it, and so
will pressing Alt-Key or Shift-Key combinations when MPlayer window has the
focus. The latter will result in the pause action being in the wrong state.
KPlayer sets the MPlayer window to the disabled state and tries to prevent
it from getting focus, but it still occasionally happens.

When MPlayer is paused or stopped, it may leave the last displayed frame in
the window or replace it with a black background. This appears to have been
partially resolved in MPlayer 0.90. When paused MPlayer shows the last
dispayed frame, and when it is stopped the window will be black. However,
popping up menus, tooltips, etc. still produces random results.

Seeking to absolute position does not work well on some media types, in
particular MPEG, some Windows Media files, and VBR MP3 files. In those cases
you should use Forward/Backward shortcuts or buttons instead of clicking on
the slider itself or dragging the slider thumb. Also the detected length may
not be correct in those cases. Some files are not seekable at all.

Issues that are believed to have been mostly or completely resolved

KPlayer does its best to not leave behind any MPlayer processes. However,
it did not always succeed. If MPlayer forked, one of the processes might
sometimes not exit. You had to kill it manually then. This should not
happen anymore.

Occasionally when starting playback, resizing the window or switching to
and from full screen mode the picture may not show up in the KPlayer window
until you resize it or pause and unpause playback. This is still happening
very infrequently, like maybe 1% of the time or maybe even less. If you can
find a way to reproduce this consistently, I will be very interested to know.

Occasionally when switching from full screen to normal mode the window might
not be restored to the original size, rather its size would be close to the
screen size. This is believed to be a KWin problem. A workaround has been
found that reduced the effect of this problem considerably, so this should
happen very rarely now. Also very occasionally the window may show up at a
slightly wrong place.

Reporting bugs
--------------

Before you report a bug, first please make sure the bug has not been reported
yet. Look in the BUGS file that comes with the distribution, then in the bug
tracking system at http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=532182&group_id=71710
Also look in Support Requests, Feature Requests, Public Forums and Mailing
Lists sections.

Please report bugs through the KPlayer bug tracking system at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kplayer/
Using SourceForge is much preferable over private e-mail, for it helps
prevent duplicate requests.

When you submit a bug, please include all of the following information:
  - versions of KPlayer, MPlayer, KDE, Qt, XFree and the window manager you
    are running,
  - MPlayer output from the message log,
  - KPlayer debug log: run KPlayer from a console, reproduce the bug, then
send me whatever shows up on the console, marking the location where
    the problem occurs.
