Sussen is a client for the Nessus Security Scanner. Sussen is incredibly
easy to use, you can perform a vulnerabiltiy assessment with just a few
mouse clicks.

Features include:

* Based on open standards (GNOME, Gtk+/GLib, GNet, Gnome-DB)
* Support for multiple Nessus servers
* Generates multiple reports (you can also add/customize reports)
* Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) compliant GUI
* Druids for common tasks
* Online help manual

The work for this project is being funded by Star Chamber Inc.
(http://www.starchamber.ca).

Dependencies
------------
Sussen currently depends on:

	- GNOME/Gtk+ v2.2 libraries
	- libgda/libgnomedb v0.90.0
	- libgnet v2.0.3
	- libglade v2.0.1
	- libxslt v1.0.31

Known Bugs
----------
- There is no SSL support in Sussen. You currently must the following
  into your nessusd.conf to use it with Nessus:

	ssl_version = none

  We will implement SSL support again as soon as it's available in
  GNet (see gnet-dev for status).

- If you were using a previous version of sussen you should delete
  ~user/.sussen and re-generate your config. Not doing this will lead to
  crashes and other strange behaviour.

- On some systems, pages in the Druids may appear blank
- It is not possible to edit/save plugin/scanner preferences in policy manager
- At times report generation can fail due to non-xml-escape'd characters

Hacking
-------

Development is being done under Gentoo Linux with GNOME v2.2.2
and Anjuta IDE v1.1.97 (www.anjuta.org).

Latest code available from CVS:
