ipfwchains-module for Linux 2.2.x firewalling - Didier Dhaenens
---------------------------------------------------------------

This module implements 2 tables:
Chainstable : a table containing the chainnames and counters
Rulestable : a table containing the rules from all chains

In the chainstable, you can set some variables :
zero : zeroes the packet and byte counters from the selected chain
flush : flushes all the rules from the selected chain
optimize : reorders the rules in the specified chain from highest
packet count downwards + zeroes the counters
!BE CAREFUL! optimizing is only guaranteed to work correctly for rules
that are completely independent. There is code in place that tries to
preserve the order of dependent rules, but the dependency-check hasn't
been exhaustivily tested, so we're not sure it is completely correct.

Work is still in progress.

To compile this module into the agent :
copy IPFWCHAINS-MIB.txt into your Mibs-directory
( probably /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/ )
./configure --with-mib-modules="ipfwchains/ipfwchains"

Any suggestions or bugfixes are always welcome.
