Creating Administrators

Using the Management Console, you can grant full administrator rights (Scalix Admin-level permissions) to one or more Scalix users. This gives them greater access to the Scalix administrative tools (both the Management Console and the CLI), but at a lower level than the root “sxadmin” role.

Note: A “full administrator” (aka Scalix Admin) is not listed in any of the four Scalix Admin groups—and does not need to be. Both premium and standard users can become full administrators.

To grant Full Administrator rights to a user:

  1. In the toolbar, click the User button.
  2. In the contents pane, select the user account for the person to get ScalixAdmin access.
Tip To narrow the list if your user base is large, remember that you can use the filters to display only Premium or Standard members.
  1. When the user's account information appears in the display pane, click the Advanced tab.
  2. In the area labelled Login Identification, click the checkbox next to Is full administrator.
  3. Click the now-active Save Changes button at the bottom of the display pane.
  4. This user now has the second-highest level of administrative access and can use the Management Console or certain aspects of CLI to complete tasks.
