Assigning Users to Administration Groups
Using the Management Console, you can assign users to specific administration groups, which gives them greater levels of access to system settings. To grant administrative access to one of the four administration groups, you must make sure the candidate has a fully functioning Scalix user account as either a Premium or Standard user.
To assign a user to an admin group:
- In the toolbar, click the User button.
-
In the contents pane, select the user account for the person to get ScalixAdmin access.
| TIP: |
To narrow the list if your user base is large, remember that you can use the filters to display only Premium or Standard members. |
- When the user's account information appears in the display pane, click the Member Of tab.
- In the area labelled Member Of Groups, open the Filter groups by: Type dropdown menu and choose All Groups.
- When the full group list appears below, locate the relevant admin group and click the checkbox by the name.
- Click the now-active Save Changes button at the bottom of the display pane.
-
This user now has some level of administrative access to Scalix and can use the Management Console to complete tasks.
For more information on this level of user access and how this user performs various tasks, see How a Scalix Admin Group Member Uses the Management Console and the printed Scalix Management Console User Guide.
Verifying new members of an Admin Group
To verify that a user has succesfully been granted Admin Group rights:

In the toolbar, click the Groups button.
-
Open the Filter by Type menu and choose Admin Groups.
-
When the four groups appear in the contents pane, select the group to which you just added a member.
- When that group’s options appear in the display pane, click the Members tab to view the current roster.
-
The new person appears among the members shown in the display pane.
