About Administrative Roles

Scalix provides four distinct administrative roles that permit varying levels of access to manage the system's servers and users:

Each of these comes with specific access rights and permissions:

"sxadmin" user Has complete access via the CLI and the Management Console to manage every aspect of a Scalix system.
Scalix Admin Has full Management Console access but limited CLI access, and a smaller scope in duties. Also known as a "Full Administrator."
Scalix Admin Groups Have varying levels of Management Console access to undertake specific (and limited) tasks.
Group Manager A member of a public distribution list or group who has Management Console access solely to add or delete users from a group to which they belong.

If you are the top-level system administrator (“sxadmin”), you can use the Management Console to grant others the role of “Full Administrator” or one of four “ScalixAdmin” group roles.
