Scalix offers three editions of its email and calendaring system: Enterprise Edition, Small Business Edition and Community Edition. This allows you to provide cost-saving service to large numbers of lower-level users while still providing higher-level services to others who need them.
Community Edition:
Community Edition is a free unlimited use version of Scalix with a subset of Scalix functionality that includes the Scalix server on Linux, support for all POP/IMAP email clients, and the Scalix Web Access (SWA) browser-based email client for email and personal calendaring. It includes:
Enterprise and Small Business Editions:
Scalix Enterprise Edition is the company's flagship product with the full complement of Scalix functionality. It includes the industry's most full-featured Outlook support, group scheduling in Scalix Web Access (SWA) and enterprise capabilities such as multi-server support.
Small Business Edition offers all the same functionality but with fewer user licenses for a lower-end price point.
Both include all the capabilities in Community Edition plus:
In the Scalix Management Console, the administrator can define users as either Premium or Standard, thereby granting them different levels of access to features. Access to Premium user capabilities is granted if an appropriate number of Premium user licenses are available in the installed Scalix system. Scalix Community Edition includes a maximum of 25 free Premium user licenses whereas Small Business Edition allows up to 50. Any number of Premium user licenses can be purchased for the Enterprise Edition.
