Adding or Updating a License

After you obtain your license, you must import it into Scalix before you can use the system.

If you have multiple servers, you only need to import the license once as a global setting. SAC then broadcasts the license out to all other servers. For more on global settings, see Global Settings.

To import a license:

  1. In the toolbar, click the Settings button.
  2. In the contents pane, select the Mail Servers globe icon to make this a global setting.
  3. In the display pane to the right, click the License tab.
  4. In the lower right corner of the tab, click Install License.
  5. When a new Install License window appears, cut-and-paste the license text you previously copied from the source into this new window.
  6. Click Install License.
  7. When the window closes, the License tab displays a summary of your license, including its lifetime and capacity.
  8. In the dialog box that asks if you want to reboot your Scalix server(s), click Yes.
  9. When the reboot is complete, the license takes effect.
  10. Repeat this process for each server.

Replacing, updating or upgrading an existing license

As time passes or as you add users, you may need to update or upgrade your license. When you do, you must import the new one to replace the existing license.

To replace an existing license:

  1. Repeat the steps above, pasting the new license information in to the dialog box. It replaces the old license information.
