Limitations of the Management Console
The Management Console provides an easy-to-use GUI for some of the more commonly-used administrative tasks required for everyday use of the Scalix email system. Others are performed on the command line. The following tasks or capabilities are out of the Management Console’s scope so are performed in the CLI:
- Examining user records or message data in the message store.
-
Bulk provisioning (such as from a text file).
- SNMP capability for real-time alerts or status reports (requires 3rd-party tools).
-
Adding resources (meeting rooms, equipment, etc.) or filtering to manage them.
-
Adding, managing or setting permissions for public folders.
-
Creating named instances of the Scalix server.
