Key Features of the Console

The Management Console interface has three basic working areas: The toolbar, the contents pane and the display pane.

There are also three consistent steps for navigating through tasks:

  1. Click a button in the toolbar to determine the type of task you want to perform.
  2. Click an item in the contents pane to determine on which user, group or server you want to perform the task.
  3. Make changes to that item in the display pane.

Navigating through the Management Console

Once you click a toolbar button and select an item in the contents pane, the navigation button on top of the display pane helps you switch tasks or lists. In addition, a "four-way" icon shows you what SAC toolbar button you clicked and its arrows help you efficiently navigate.

Click a left or right arrow to switch display pane pages -- as with a browser's "Back" or "Next" buttons.
Click an up or down arrow to change entries in the contents pane.
