Giapeto
Version 0.1

What is Giapeto?
----------------

Giapeto is the Horde module for generating a dynamic website,
updatable by any number of users, directly through the web
browser. The idea is to bring web site generation even to the most
illiterate web user, but still preserve a professional looking
website.

It uses two features of the Horde system:
 - Categories to store page outlines and build up the site tree. It contains:
   - the page name, to be used also within the URL;
   - the page format, how the individual parts will be laid out (in the data
     field);
   - the individual page part formatting, font size, italics, bold etc (data
     field);
   - the order of the page parts within the layout 'mask'.
 - VFS to store the individual components of a page

Giapeto can handle serving of pages either through a GET request
passing the page id to the script, or prettier URLs through the Apache
mod_rewrite function.

The latter is usually the most desired method, hiding all the program
workings from the user and showing a clean and regular URL folder
scheme.

This software is OSI Certified Open Source Software.
OSI Certified is a certification mark of the Open Source Initiative.
