If you're using Gubed with Quanta (KDE web development suite), see quanta.txt for better instructions

To get started:

* Unpack the sources
  tar xzvf ...

* Compile the Gubed proxy (optional)
  cd Server
  ./autogen.sh
  ./configure
  make

* Compile the wxClient
  cd Clients/wxGubed/
  ./autogen.sh
  ./configure
  make

* Copy the Gubed directory to a place available for your php-scripts
  To try it out, you can copy it to your webroot:
  cp -r Gubed /var/www (or equivalent)

  Note that this is a security risk, if your webserver can be accesses to anyone!
  (Read more about it in serversetup.txt)

* Edit the Gubed php settings.
  This step can be skipped if the Gubed server, client and scripts are
  all on the same box.

  If you wish to run Gubed on another computer than the script (web server),
  edit the GubedGlobals.php file in the Gubed subdirectory. Set the
  $gbdDebugServer variable to the IP or hostname of the other computer.
  You can also create a file called 'localsettings.php' and put the setting in that
  one (that file wont be overwritten by the next release)

* Optionally run the Gubed proxy, for beginners it's recommended getting it to
  work without proxy first.
  cd Server/src
  ./gbdServer

  (it should inform you it is awaiting connections)

* Start the Gubed client
  cd Clients/wxGubed/src
  ./gbdwxGubed

  You will need to change the IP/hostname and proxy usage in the settings
  dialog and then press "connect" in the toolbar (unless it connects auto-
  matically).

* Point your web browser to the Gubed directory (assuming you copied it
  to webroot.)

* Follow the instructions on the webpage displayed
