This is the readme for ypops version 0.6
to compile ypops just execute the scipt ./ypcompile and answer the
questions that are put forth.this script will also install ypops to the
user specified location.the file ypopsrc contains the configuration
details.this will be installed in a user specified location.please maintain
the format of the file as it is.

currently only linux is supported.over the next few days i plan to add
support for sunos and mac also.as it stands the code should compile without
any issues on macos and sun also.

Necessary requirments
1. libcurl 7.11.2
2. openssl 0.9.7c
4. mimepp ( from http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/downloads )

A safe order of compilation would be
1. openssl
2. curl ( while compiling this force it to take the openssl you have compiled using the option --with-ssl to configure)

of course you dont need to compile mimepp.just download and untar the
sources.

i suggest that you download and install these in a safe location.all further
releases of yahoopops will use these software.so a one time compilation of
these is necessary and will also save you download bandwith :-)

configuring your mail clients:
1. a user contribution to configure mozilla is as follows :
I set my Mozilla mail to access POP3 server "localhost" and set the port to 5058. I then unchecked all the server settings (Use secure connection, check for new messages, etc. I left my SMTP server blank. When I clicked on Get New Messages in Mozilla Mail, I was asked for my password. Then I tailed yahoopops.log so I'll know what it was doing. There were no error messages, fortunately. :) It just took a long time to download messages with attachments. That's it.
