 SUPPORTED SOFTWARE
 ==================

 Required:

 * The TCP/IP Identification Protocol (RFC 1413) server (any).

 Highly recommended:

 * OpenSSL - cryptographic package (http://www.openssl.org/).
 * GnuPG - The GNU Privacy Guard (http://www.gnupg.org/)
 * GPGME - GnuPG Made Easy (http://www.gnupg.org/gpgme.html).

 Optional:

 * PCRE - Perl-Compatible Regular Expression Library
   (ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/programming/pcre/)
 * PAM - Pluggable Authentication Modules.
 * libwrap (TCP wrappers) - access control library.

 PORTING
 =======

 Anubis should compile fine on:
 GNU/Linux, *BSD, HP-UX, Solaris, IRIX, MacOS X,
 generally all POSIX systems with the GCC.

 INSTALLATION
 ============

 $ ./configure
 $ make
 $ make install

 By default, Anubis will install in the '/usr/local/sbin/anubis',
 but this can be changed with the --prefix command, for example:

 $ ./configure --prefix=/usr
 $ make
 $ make install

 Next, copy a proper init script for your system. The RedHat users
 should copy the 'scripts/redhat.init' to 'etc/init.d/anubis'.
 A Debian users: "$cp scripts/debian.init /etc/init.d/anubis"
 Read the debian.init script for more information.

 NOTE: Remember about activating Anubis with the 'ntsysv' tool
 or similar, and configure its global run control file.

 NOTE: It is required to install the TCP/IP IDENT protocol
 server (RFC 1413). Without it, an outgoing mail processor will fail.
 Most modern GNU/Linux (or *BSD) distributions have already installed
 such a server, but if you do not have it, you must install it by your own.
 For example: pidentd available at ftp://ftp.lysator.liu.se/pub/ident/servers/

 Set the './configure' script with:
 '--with-pcre' to enable the Perl-compatible regular expressions support.
 '--with-pam' to enable the Pluggable Authentication Modules support.
 '--with-tcp-wrappers' to enable the libwrap (TCP wrappers) support.
 '--without-openssl' to disable the OpenSSL support.
 '--without-gpgme' to disable the GNU Privacy Guard (GPGME) support.

 RPMs (maintainers)
 ==================

 You can easily build binary and source packages for the Anubis.
 To build from a normal user:

 $ cd anubis-directory
 $ ./autogen.sh rpm

 To build from root:

 $ cd anubis-directory
 $ su -c './autogen.sh rpm'

 UNINSTALLATION
 ==============

 $ make uninstall
