guile-fltk (version 0.4.0)

Overview
========

  guile-fltk is a binding between fltk 1.0.x (a c++ widget library) and
  Guile (a scheme interpretter). guile-fltk provides a rich library of
  classes and functions to access the powerful Fltk library.

  guile-fltk is getting very close to being a "complete" fltk binding,
  and in many areas guile-fltk extends fltk's capabilities considerably.

Requirements
============

   [1] Fltk  >= 1.0.4
       http://www.fltk.org/software.html
   [2] Guile >= 1.3.2
       http://www.gnu.org/software/guile/guile.html#get

Building guile-fltk
===================

   From the top directory do the following:

      ./configure
      make
      make install

Running the sample scripts
==========================

  Go to the "examples" directory. There are a number of sample
  scripts that can be executed like this:

  ./hello.scm

Documentation
=============

  My goal is that guile-fltk should generate it's own documentation.
  Version 0.2.0 is the first version that makes this possible, and
  you can generate some rather feeble documentation by typing,

  ./docs.scm > docs.txt

  from the examples directory. You can also query documentation
  interactively, like this:

  (pdb-doc 'fltk-widget-x)

  Better documentation and interactive query tools are in store for
  the future.

Things that need to be done
===========================

[1] Implement remaining classes and functions and improve the
    robustness of existing functions.

[2] Provide some dummy sub classes with scheme hooks for classes that
    need to be derived in order to be useful.

[3] Possibly a goops wrapper in addition to this interface.

[x] = binding (mostly) exists.
[/] = I don't think it's applicable or necessary.  I could be wrong..
[?] = Fl_Gl_Window and Fl_Overlay_Window must be subclassed to be used.
      I'll probably create subclasses of these so Guile can create
      these kind of windows. To access user subclassed windows, the
      user must write a guile-fltk binding for the new subclass. urgh..
[] = Missing or not enough of it exists to be worth mentioning.
