wmseti is a Windowmaker dockapp which monitors your seti@home client statistics.

Description:
===========
wmseti consists of 5 lines of information in a Windowmaker dockapp icon.
At this moment wmseti has the capability to use 6 sources of information:

- the title "wmseti" (not really informing though ;)
- the PID of the SETI@home client
- progress (percentage done)
- cpu time
- time needed to complete the current workunit
- # units received
- # units returned

You can choose 5 of these to be displayed in your self-defined sequence by
copying the default wmsetirc file (/etc/wmsetirc) to $HOME/.wmsetirc and
editing this file to your needs (instructions included in wmsetirc). When
choosing the title there's also a possibility to flash the PID once in a
while on that position.

wmseti supports the monitoring of multiple SETI@home clients by specifying
more than one directory to monitor in the configuration file. Scrolling
through these directories can be done with a single left mouseclick.

wmseti can also stop and restart your SETI@homeclient with a click of the
right mousebutton. This can be done for each individual SETI@home client
specified in the configuration file.

With the middle mousebutton the PID flash functionality can be emulated.
If flashpid isn't enabled in the configuration file and the middle mouse
button is pressed once, the PID of the SETI@home client is flashed briefly.
If flashpid is enabled, the second line of wmseti displays its version
number briefly.

Requirements:
============
- On Solaris the xpm package must be installed. This is available at
  www.sunfreeware.com.
- read access to the statistics files of the SETI@home client (notably
  state.txt and user_info.txt)
- read access to the PID directory of the SETI@home client to be able to read
  the clients process state from /proc.

AfterStep:
=========
Using wmseti within aftersteps wharf should be no problem. If you do have
problems, please post bugs at http://sourceforge.net/projects/wmseti/ and
we'll look into it. The following configuration instructions have been
kindly provided by Oystein Viggen <oysteivi@tihlde.org>.

In GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/wharf add the following line:
*Wharf wmseti - Swallow "wmseti" wmseti &

As usual the position in the file (relative to other wharfs) determines the
position in the wharf. Additional switches should be added between the last
wmseti and the ampersand (in the above line). For example,
*Wharf wmseti - Swallow "wmseti" wmseti -D -V &

Upcoming features:
=================
I've got no plan for upcoming features, other than ensuring that wmseti
works with the latest version of the SETI@home client. If you would like
to contribute features or bug fixes, I will do my best to merge them.

Since a couple of weeks I've graduated, and I may call myself master in
Cognitive Science. I still have a strong dislike of microsoft products
and am still running Slink with WindowMaker for about two years now, I decided
it would be time to write some code myself.
